Libya Iron and Steel signs agreement with a Turkish company for a cold rolling plant

Libyan Iron and Steel Company and Turkiye's "Partner Teknik" company, signed a new agreement to complete its existing hexagonal cold rolling plant project.

The project, which is planned to produce cold rolled coils and strips ranging in thickness from 0.20 mm to 3 mm with an annual capacity of approximately 200,000 tons, aims to meet domestic demand and then export the surplus.

According to the statement, the project will take 7 months to complete and an additional 4 months for operational support. The contract includes the completion of all outstanding electrical and mechanical works, cold testing of the equipment, followed by hot testing for trial and commercial operations.

It is emphasized that with this contract, a period of 4 months has been set aside to provide operational support and training for technicians and engineers, and that this process is critical for achieving quality and standards.
