Japan's Kishiwada Steel ceased operations at its electric arc furnace steelmaking plant on January 4 due to a fire caused by molten steel leaking from the bottom of the ladle furnace during refining process. Announcing that the rolling mill was re-opened on April 23 after the renovation works, the company announced that it will resume iron scrap purchases and high-strength steel bar orders.
