The company stated that the limited decline in production was due to one unit being offline at the Vijayanagar Steel Plant in India as part of ongoing capacity enhancement work. In its disclosure to the BSE, JSW Steel noted that the No. 3 blast furnace (BF3) at Vijayanagar has been offline since September 2025 for capacity expansion activities, which has impacted crude steel production in its Indian operations.
Meanwhile, the company reported that monthly shipment volumes in India also declined to 2.31 million tonnes in February 2026. This figure represents a limited 1% decrease compared to 2.33 million tonnes recorded in February 2025.
When considering the operations of JSW Steel’s wholly-owned subsidiary, JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Limited, a different picture emerges. The company indicated that, excluding production at the Vijayanagar facility, total production volume increased by approximately 8% year-on-year.
