JSW Steel, one of India's leading steelmakers, is expected to achieve its ambitious target of 23% reduction in carbon emissions by 2023. The firm aims to achieve 1.95 tonnes of carbon emissions from steel production, including direct and indirect emissions, with the Vijayanagar Works, Dolvi Works and Salem plant.
In addition, JSW Steel will follow the sustainable development path for the Indian steel industry recommended by the International Energy Agency (IEA), which has set a target to reduce carbon emissions by 60% by 2050.
