DP World’s Jebel Ali Port processed approximately 630,000 tonnes of breakbulk cargo in October 2025, reaching its highest monthly volume in two decades. This increase reflects the renewed momentum in industrial and construction activities across the region.
While the port has seen rising activity in container, bulk and RoRo operations in recent years, breakbulk volumes also recorded a notable increase. Steel imports for major projects such as the Dubai Metro Blue Line and the DWC airport expansion were highlighted as key contributors to this growth.
Following a 23% year-on-year increase in breakbulk volumes in 2024—reaching 5.36 million tonnes—this new monthly record further reinforces Jebel Ali’s strong position in regional cargo movement.
Shahab Al Jassmi, Chief Commercial Officer for Ports & Terminals at DP World GCC, said the results reflect the trust businesses place in the port, noting that operations continue smoothly despite rising demand.
Breakbulk operations, which include heavy and oversized project cargo, are supported by Jafza’s structure and DP World’s extensive logistics network. The port’s consistent performance across multiple cargo categories in recent years highlights its role as one of the most active gateways in the region.
