According to statistics from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel production in July fell by 8.5 percent from July 2021 to around 7.3 million tons due to low demand.
In the January-July period, Japan's crude steel production amounted to approximately 53.3 million tons, down 5%.
Instability in demand in the automobile industry continues. With electricity prices rising, mills are expected to halt production and Japan's crude steel production is expected to continue to decline.
