The company has previously participated in major infrastructure developments across a wide geography — from railway bridges in Slovakia to the suspension bridge over the Gulf of Izmit in Türkiye.
The pipes produced by Interpipe will support the new bridge spanning the Saale River near the city of Halle. The structure will form part of a new bypass road planned for the region. Interpipe received an order for 300 tonnes of structural pipes, including 219 mm diameter line pipes manufactured in accordance with EN 10210, EN 10297, EN 10216-3 standards and referenced to DBS 918002.
Commenting on the project, Marcel Schmitz, Pipe Sales Manager for European Markets at Interpipe, said:
“Germany is one of Europe’s key economic and transport hubs, and therefore depends on reliable transportation routes. Most local highway and railway bridges were built 40–50 years ago and now require significant reconstruction or replacement. In the coming years, we hope to contribute to similar projects included in Germany’s national road renovation plan, in cooperation with our key customers in the country.”
