Indian JSPL new rebar mill starts production

Indian company Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) has installed a new rebar mill at Angul steel plant in Odisha state, in the presence of the Minister of Steel Industry of India.
The production capacity of the mill is 1.4 million tons per year. According to the company, this is one of the largest units in the world. It is also capable of producing rebar up to 50 mm, which is unmatched in India.

Currently the Angul plant has a capacity of 6 million tons of steel per year. However, JSPL has embarked on a project to increase production to 12 million tons per year and plans to increase this figure to 15 million tons per year by 2025. In the future, by about 2030, the company wants to transform the business into the world's largest steel plant capable of melting up to 25.2 million tons of steel per year.
