According to Ministry of Trade data, Türkiye's exports increased by %3.9 to USD224.6 billion in the January-October period of the year compared to the same period last year. Exports to neighboring countries also increased by %3.6 to USD22.926 billion in the same period.
The largest export destination is Iraq.
The largest market among neighbors was Iraq with USD8.3 billion in exports. Iraq was followed by Bulgaria with USD3.8 billion , Greece with USD3 billion and Georgia with USD2.1 billion. The highest annual export growth was recorded at %52 to Syria, %7.6 to Greece and %7.4 to Azerbaijan.
Chemical Products First on the List
The chemicals and chemical products sector ranked first in exports to neighboring countries with USD3 billion 582 million.This sector was followed by cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products (USD2.6 billion) and steel (USD1.7 billion).
The lowest export was recorded at USD32 million in the sugar plants and products group.
Except Armenia and Nakhchivan
While Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Greece were considered in the calculations, Nakhchivan was not included in the statistics because there is no official data on it and there is no direct land trade with Armenia.
