Hyundai Steel, South Korea's second largest steel producer, received Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification from the Ministry of Environment for its H-beam, becoming the first company in the local steel industry to receive this certification.
A total of 13 products of Hyundai Steel received EPD certification and one product received low-carbon product certification. Hyundai Steel produces its H-beams with recycled ferrous scrap using electric furnaces, demonstrating the company's contribution to a low-carbon society.
In addition, Hyundai Steel has recently installed a production system for ultra-high-strength H-beams to reduce steel weight, thereby saving costs and shortening construction times.
