House sales in Türkiye increased by 35.8% in June

House sales in Türkiye increased by 35.8% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 107,723.

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), house sales in Türkiye increased by 35.8% in June compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 107 thousand 723. In May, the highest level of the last 5 months was reached with 130 thousand 25 house sales.

While Istanbul was the province with the highest number of house sales in June with 17 thousand 656 house sales, Ankara followed Istanbul with 9 thousand 428 and Izmir with 5 thousand 987 house sales. The provinces with the least number of house sales were Ardahan (38), Bayburt (62) and Hakkari (81).

House sales to foreigners increased by 8.7% to 1,565. The share of sales to foreigners in total house sales was realized as 1.5 %. While the highest number of house sales was realized in Antalya with 603 units, 521 houses in Istanbul and 128 houses in Mersin were purchased by foreigners. House sales to foreigners decreased by 10.6% in the January-June period compared to the same period of the previous year and decreased to 9 thousand 354.

According to the nationalities of the country, Russian citizens bought the most houses. In June, Russians bought 326 houses, followed by Ukraine with 111 houses and citizens of Iran with 109 houses.

Mortgaged house sales increased by 112.6% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 14 thousand 484. The share of mortgaged sales in total sales was recorded as 13.4%. In the January-June period, mortgaged sales increased by 100.5% to 103 thousand 90. In June, 3 thousand 384 of the mortgaged sales and 24 thousand 446 of the sales in the January-June period were realized as first hand sales.

Other house sales increased by 28.6% to 93 thousand 239 in June and accounted for 86.6% of total sales. In the January-June period, other house sales increased by 19.3% to 588 thousand 803.

First-hand house sales increased by 32% in June and reached 33 thousand 569, while its share in total sales was 31.2%. In the January-June period, first-hand sales increased by 19.8% to 207 thousand 624.

Second-hand house sales increased by 37.6% to 74 thousand 154 in June. Second-hand sales, which accounted for 68.8% of total sales, reached 484 thousand 269 with an increase of 30.3% in the January-June period.
