In a significant move towards sustainable steel production, Hormozgan Steel Company and Horman Sanat Sharif Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the construction of a pilot plant. This plant will utilize the HYFOR method, a cutting-edge technology for the direct reduction of iron concentrate by hydrogen in fluidized bed technology, with an annual capacity of 1000 tons.
The agreement was formalized during the 6th Iranian Steel Festival and Exhibition, with key figures such as Ataollah Marufkhani, CEO of Hormozgan Steel, and Seyyed Rasoul Khalifa Soltani, Secretary of the Iranian Steel Producers Association, in attendance. This initiative underscores Hormozgan Steel's commitment to pioneering green steel production technologies, marking a significant step forward in the industry’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.
