The signing ceremony was held in Istanbul as part of the IDEF 2025 Fair, and was attended by President of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün, Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and TAI executives.

Görgün emphasized that the agreement involves not just a sale but a long-term technology and production collaboration, saying, "Together with our partner companies that will participate in the production of KAAN with Indonesia, we are creating a sustainable model based on local capacity."

Furthermore, at the ceremony, a contract was signed between TAIS Shipyard and Indonesia for the most advanced frigate in its class. The frigate's weapons and systems will utilize products from Turkish companies such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and HAVELSAN.

Following this agreement, which marks the first export of the KAAN project, negotiations with other countries are ongoing, and it was noted that the domestic production rate in the Turkish defense industry has reached 83%.
