Henrik Adam will continue his presidency since November 2023. Having served as Vice President from 2019 to 2023, Adam also brings extensive experience in the steel sector through his role as Chairman of WorldAutoSteel.
“A critical period for Europe’s industrial sovereignty”
Speaking after his re-election, Dr. Adam emphasized the importance of sustainability, competitiveness, and supply security in the sector's transformation process:
“I look forward to advancing the critical initiatives we have launched to maintain our industry's competitiveness and create the necessary conditions for a successful transition. This is not only about steel, which lies at the heart of key value chains such as automotive and renewable energy, but also about Europe’s future, its industrial sovereignty, and geoeconomic resilience.”
Adam highlighted EUROFER’s priorities, including the rapid implementation of steel trade measures, closing gaps in the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), reducing high energy costs, promoting green steel demand in Europe, and securing scrap supply within the EU.

EUROFER Director General Axel Eggert said Adam’s re-election brings stability at a critical time:
