This order marks HBIS's largest green steel export deal to date, signaling the company's strengthened competitive position in the global market. It also serves as an example of the proactive steps Chinese steel producers are taking to comply with new environmental regulations such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
While continuing its efforts to establish an integrated industrial chain for hydrogen-based green steel production, HBIS offers customized solutions for the European market through its Dugao platform. Prior to the order, HBIS conducted full-cycle carbon footprint calculations to meet the Italian customer's stringent supply chain criteria and also provided the customer with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificate.
The product, which reduces carbon emissions by 50% per ton, highlights the growing international demand for low-carbon steel solutions. Following this export, HBIS aims to further develop green and low-carbon supply chains and play a more active role in the global market with sustainable solutions.
