Gulf Cooperation Council imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese aluminum

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) announced the introduction of anti-dumping duties on aluminum alloy flat products imported from China. It was stated that this decision was taken to protect industrialists in the region from unfair competition. The duties, which will enter into force on April 25, 2025, will be between 7.1% and 20% and will be valid for five years. The duties cover coated or colored rectangular (including square) aluminum sheet, plate, coil and strip with a coating of 0.2 mm to 8 mm.

This regulation was implemented by the GCC's Standing Committee on Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade and formalized by the Technical Secretariat. The Customs Tariff Statistics Position (GTIP) codes where the tax distribution is distorted are 76061210, 76061220 and 76061230. Full details were published in the Technical Secretariat's official bulletin.
