Green transformation viewed from an industry perspective

The “Green Consensus from an Industry Perspective” event, in which the effects of the regulations on green and digital transformation in the European Union on the Turkish industry were evaluated, was held online on April 27.

Green transformation viewed from an industry perspective

Speaking at the event, TÜSİAD Board Member and Head of the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Roundtable Cevdet Alemdar made the following statements: “We see that different steps have been taken to combat the climate crisis around the world. The European Green Deal is undoubtedly the most important of these steps. The European Green Deal does not only affect the EU geography. It also necessitates the implementation of green transformation in countries with which the EU has economic relations. In this respect, the European Green Consensus is also very important for our country. As TÜSİAD, we see the European Green Consensus as an important framework. We can shape the green transformation strategies of our sectors and their investment plans in this direction with the help of this framework.”

Developed countries take action for sustainability transformation
TÜSİAD Board Member and Industrial Policy and Investment Environment Round Table Chair Dr. Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu stated that they saw that focused strategies and action plans were put into practice in many parts of the world in the fight against the climate crisis and said, “With the European Green Agreement, developed countries, especially the EU, are taking action to ensure sustainability transformation in many fields and sectors from trade to industry, from agriculture to finance. In order to expand and deepen our trade with the EU, we must quickly adapt to developments shaping the rules of competition. It is a necessity to closely monitor all policy measures that touch different sectors and processes in the EU, based on the goal of combating climate change, and to maintain our position in our trade with the EU and our international competitiveness.
