As part of the acquisition, the hot rolling mill for large-format rolled steel and the machining and heat treatment facilities for complex open-die forged parts will become part of GMH Gruppe. The remaining business units of Buderus Edelstahl will continue to operate under Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. While the purchase price has not been disclosed, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, following the completion of regulatory approvals.
Dr. Alexander Becker, CEO of GMH Gruppe, stated: "We are very pleased to welcome parts of Buderus Edelstahl into our group. This acquisition perfectly complements our strategic objectives in large-format hot rolling and the machining and heat treatment of open-die forged parts. It will strengthen our position in circular economy, green steel, and heavy forging."
Dr. Anne-Marie Großmann, CDO of GMH Gruppe, emphasized: "We are excited to welcome our new colleagues to the GMH family. Sharing expertise and developing our facilities together will create valuable opportunities for all parties involved."
