Global pig iron production in January-June 2023 increased by 1.1% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 715.73 million tons. In June this year, 120.65 million tons of pig iron were produced, up 0.7% from the previous year but down 2.7% from the previous month.
The main pig iron producers in the first half of 2023 are the following countries: China - 451.56 million tons (+2.7%, yoy), India - 66.2 million tons (+9.2%, yoy) and Japan - 31.59 million tons (-4.4%, yoy).
