The World Steel Association ( Worldsteel ), headquartered in Brussels, has announced crude steel production data for September.
Accordingly, global crude steel production increased by 3.7 percent to 151.7 million tons in September compared to the same period of 2021.
In the said period, China 's production increased by 17.6 percent and reached 87 million tons, while Japan's production decreased by 12.3 percent to 7.1 million tons.
In the same period, it was noteworthy that the production of the European Union decreased by 16.7 percent to 10.7 million tons, and the production of the USA decreased by 7.5 percent to 6.6 million.
According to the association's data, Turkey's crude steel production decreased by 19.4 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year, to 2.7 million tons.
Germany's production decreased by 15.4 percent to 2.8 million tons.
Brazil's production decreased by 11.7 percent to 2.7 million tons, while production in Russia decreased by 6.8 percent to 5.7 million tons.
In the January-September period of this year, global crude steel production decreased by 3.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to 780.8 tons.
