WorldSteel announced crude steel production figures for October 2025. Accordingly, crude steel production of 70 countries decreased by %5.9 year on year to 143.3 Mt.
This figure decreased by %2.1 in January–October to 1.517 billion tons.
On a regional basis, Africa’s crude steel production increased by %0.8 year on year to 2 Mt. In Asia and Oceania, production decreased by %8.2 to 102.4 Mt. In the European Union (27 countries), production decreased by %3.5 to 10.8 Mt. In the rest of Europe, production increased by %3.8 to 3.6 Mt.
In the Middle East, crude steel production increased by %9.2 to 5.4 Mt. In North America, production increased by %4.7 to 9.1 Mt. In Russia, other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and Ukraine, production decreased by %5.1 to 6.4 Mt. In South America, production decreased by %1.1 to 3.7 Mt.
Sharp decrease in China’s production
On a country basis, China’s crude steel production decreased by %12.1 year on year in October to 72 Mt. India’s production increased by %5.9 to 13.6 Mt. The United States increased its production by %9.4 to 7 Mt. Japan’s production decreased by %1 to 6.9 Mt. Russia’s production is estimated to decrease by %6.2 to 5.3 Mt.
South Korea’s production decreased by %5.8 to 5.1 Mt, while Türkiye increased its production by %3.1 to 3.2 Mt. In Germany, production decreased by %3 to 3.1 Mt. In Brazil, production decreased by %2.7 to 3 Mt, while Iran increased its production by %12 to 3.3 Mt.
