Germany's crude steel production dropped!

This decrease was considered as an indication that the recovery in steel production lost momentum. A total of 16.2 million tonnes of liquid steel was produced from January to May, up 3.7% compared to the same period last year.

According to the report prepared by WorldSteel, German crude steel production in 2024 increased compared to 2023. 2.9 mt of crude steel was produced in January 2023, and the same amount of crude steel was produced in January 2024. Last year, crude steel produced on the basis of 3.0 mt accelerated to 3.1 mt in the same period of this year. In Germany, crude steel was produced at a rate of 3.3 mt in March 2023, while this rate was updated as 3.5 mt in March 2024. Having gained momentum in crude steel production this year, Germany continued its upward trend in April. According to the WorldSteel report, 3.2 mt of crude steel was produced in April last year; 3.4 mt was produced in the same period of 2024. Subsequently, production in May was on par with last year's production. Between 2023 and 2024, Germany produced 3.2 mt of crude steel.

According to the data, Germany produced 2.9 mt of crude steel in June 2023, with a decline. Germany, which produced 3.0 mt of crude steel with a small acceleration in July, experienced a serious decline towards the end of the year and produced 2.6 mt of crude steel in December. Compared to last year, Germany is set to produce more crude steel in 2024, but how is this going to continue?
