German business community calls for economic reform

The statement highlighted the dramatic deterioration of Germany's economic situation in recent weeks. As trade wars escalate, inflation rises, growth weakens, and unemployment has reached 3 million. Compared to other countries, Germany's economic crisis is largely considered to be internally driven.

The associations stated that coalition talks should not focus solely on symbolic victories but, instead, should aim for comprehensive reforms to revive the national economy. Specifically, they called for a reduction in the tax burden on companies, the sustainability of social security systems, and the easing of bureaucratic burdens.

Additionally, it was emphasized that Germany needs to reduce energy costs and increase its international competitiveness. The associations stressed the need for rapid and effective structural reforms, warning that without them, Germany would continue to experience economic decline.

Among the signatories are the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), and the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH).
