Gerdau has announced that it will again suspend production at its Araucária plant in the Brazilian state of Paraná. The plant had previously operated at minimum cycle rates for seven years from 2014.
It resumed operations in September 2021 following improved market conditions. At the end of this month, the plant's operations will be suspended again.
It was reported that the plant will be shut down as of May 31, 2023.
