Australia's Fortescue Metals Group produced about 170 million tonnes of iron ore in 2018. It sold more than 90% of the iron ore it produced to China. A small amount was sold to India, South Korea and Japan.
In fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017-30th June, 2018), the company's revenue amounted to approximately $6.89 billion. The sales value of iron ore, which accounts for 98.37% of the company's total revenue, was approximately USD 6.78 billion.
In this fiscal year, more than 90% of the revenue from the Chinese market reached approximately USD 6.21 billion.
