A former missile boat from the Black Sea Fleet has been sold at auction in Sevastopol as scrap metal.

Former Black Sea Fleet missile boat sold at auction in Sevastopol

The auction drew only one bid from Translom matching the minimum starting price. As a result, the company, which specializes in the wholesale trade of scrap and waste materials, was declared the winner. This information was confirmed in the government auction system "Torgi".

The auctioned item was the former missile boat R-109 of Project 12411. The vessel had served in the Black Sea Fleet since 1990 and participated in the 2008 naval operation enforcing peace in Georgia.

In December 2021, the R-109 was decommissioned from the Russian Navy. By November 2024, it was classified as “unprocessed mixed scrap of ferrous and non-ferrous metals” weighing approximately 150 tons. The starting price for the auction was set at just over 2.24 million rubles (around $25,000).
