Orrcon Steel, part of BlueScope, has entrusted Fives, a leading engineering group, to design, manufacture, and supply a complete OTO tube mill in Unanderra, Australia. The mill will produce high-quality tubes and profiles for residential, industrial, and commercial buildings, as well as structural and architectural elements with strong aesthetic and geometrical advantages.
Fives, in partnership with regional partner ProTube Engineering, will provide Orrcon Steel with a complete OTO tube mill line, from coil loading to an automatic packaging system for 10-inch diameter steel tubes. The project aims to obtain a green production certification for manufactured tubes through regenerative systems and energy-efficient motors.
Luca Cagnolati, Sales & Marketing Director at Fives OTO, highlights the company's continuous innovations, process know-how, and collaboration with tube makers. The advanced technologies include a new loading carriage with integrated burr rotation, a proprietary robotic packaging system tailored to fit the tube length and site layout, and a unique configuration modularity with three robotic arms. The robotpack at Orrcon Steel's Unanderra facility ensures high performance and flexibility.
