The EU is positively promoting zero carbon emissions to protect the environment, so new energy vehicles become the new trend. As copper and nickel are both important elements for the development of electric vehicles, the European Commission proposed to list battery-grade nickel and copper as critical raw materials.
The EU decided to ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars from 2035 by passing the legislation. 2022 is a milestone for global electric vehicle sales, with electric vehicle sales accounting for 10% of global vehicle sales. Taiwan's Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) also invested in the relevant products, which further expanded the demand for copper and nickel.
