EU and the US want to prevent the return of Trump tariffs

The agreement will be based on the Sustainable Steel and Aluminum Global Regulation, which revolves around two main plans that have been the subject of discussion between the EU and the U.S. since 2021, addressing excess capacity and combating carbon emissions.
