Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC) and Delta Steel Mill Company have signed a cooperation protocol for the comprehensive maintenance and operation of Delta Steel’s advanced facilities and new furnace. The agreement aims to combine the expertise of both public entities to strengthen Egypt’s industrial infrastructure and support sustainable local production.
Under the protocol, EMC will carry out maintenance services covering production lines, furnaces, heat exchangers, motors, compressors, and PLC control systems. The scope also includes increasing the local availability of steel products, manufacturing gas pipeline components, and contributing to the “Decent Life” initiative by helping deliver natural gas to rural areas.
Commenting on the agreement, EMC’s Projects General Manager Ahmed El-Gendy stated that this cooperation aligns with national efforts to reduce import dependency, boost local industry, and enhance collaboration between state-owned institutions.
Located on an 80-acre site in New Cairo, Delta Steel Mill Company is one of Egypt’s oldest state-run steel producers. The facility includes steel production, rolling (automatic and semi-automatic), cold rolling, galvanized wire, casting lines, and chemical and physical laboratories. EMC, in turn, is one of the country’s leading public companies specializing in engineering, industrial maintenance, and technical services, both in Egypt and abroad.
