Ekinciler Demir Çelik, which produces steel billets and construction steel, is able to produce on two separate lines, apart from the traditional rolling method, thanks to the monoblock system in its rolling mills. The system, which allows production at the desired weight and quality, makes structures light, flexible and resistant with lower tonnage iron consumption. Ekinciler Demir Çelik Sales and Marketing Coordinator Batuhan Ekinci emphasized that through the monoblock system, Ekinciler rebar offers a 5% advantage compared to other rebar of the same diameter and weight. Stating that they also export, Ekinci remarked, “We have been exporting to Iraq regularly since the past. In 2023, 23 thousand 640 tons of the total 49 thousand 493 tons of rebar exports from Türkiye to Iraq were realized by our company. We regularly ship our products to Africa, which has an important place in our export activities. The growth potential of the construction sector and the increase in infrastructure projects offer us significant opportunities in the African market. Accordingly, we direct a certain percentage of our production to exports and closely follow the demands in international markets. In the future, the African continent will continue to be one of the priority regions in our strategic growth plans. We aim to increase our market share by offering solutions suitable for customer needs in the region and to expand our export volume through new collaborations.”
“We produce 1 million tons of construction steel”
Emphasizing that they continue production by developing solutions suitable for the needs, Ekinciler continued his words as follows: “Keeping pace with the changes in Türkiye's construction and steel industry, we aim for sustainable growth both in the domestic market and in exports. In the future, we will maintain our leading role in the sector with our innovative products and quality service understanding. By making the use of rebar advantageous, Ekinciler enables a 5% saving in the purchase of rebar, which is an important item in construction costs.” Emphasizing the great importance of the company's facilities equipped with large and modern equipment in the strong production of the company, Batuhan Ekinciler stated, “The total size of our facilities exceeds 239 thousand square meters, 86 thousand 340 square meters of which is closed area. We continue to contribute to the national economy and the building materials sector by producing 1 million 250 thousand tons of billets and 1 million tons of construction steel annually with our thousand employees.”
Production will continue in the earthquake zone
“Among our targets for 2025 is to increase the capacity utilization rate to 75%,” noted Batuhan Ekinci, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Ekinciler Demir Çelik: “Within the scope of green transformation projects, we are planning to realize the 'Green Transformation in the Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Sector and Overseas Marketing URGE Project'. As a sector, we aim to export USD 22.5 billion. However, challenges such as competition in the global steel sector, increasing capacity and import taxes will be among the important issues that our sector may face. We have assumed an important producer role in the reconstruction process in the earthquake region and we will continue to support projects in this field in 2025. We are proud to contribute to the reconstruction of the region with Ekinciler assurance.”
