According to the announcement by the Directorate General for Environmental Impact Assessment, Permits, and Inspection, the project is located within the boundaries of Karayılan and Yakacık İmar neighborhoods in the Payas district of İskenderun, Hatay. The EIA report submitted to the Ministry was reviewed by the EIA Review and Evaluation Commission, taking into account public opinions.
As a result of the Commission’s assessment, a positive decision was issued for the project in accordance with Article 14 of the EIA Regulation. The decision must be announced to the public by the Hatay Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
In addition, compliance with the issues specified in the Final EIA Report and its annexes, as well as with the Environmental Law No. 2872 and related regulations, and the acquisition of the necessary permits, has been made mandatory within the scope of the project.
