Rebar prices in Egypt remained stable in EGP terms as of August 24, 2025, with most major producers holding prices unchanged. However, USD-denominated prices rose slightly due to the depreciation of the Egyptian Pound, which fell from 49.75 to 48.55 per USD.
According to SteelRadar’s latest data, key producers like Ezz Steel (38,200 EGP/MT) and Suez Steel (37,500 EGP/MT) maintained their rates, while a few, including Madina Steel and Mirs Steel, reduced prices by up to 500 EGP/MT.
Despite stable local pricing, weakening currency is increasing import and financing costs. With inflation and fiscal policies adding pressure, producers may face challenges in maintaining margins. The market remains in balance between rising costs and soft construction demand.
