The European Economic Community (EEC) has extended the duration of these duties until June 9, 2030.
EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev stated the decision follows a repeated anti-dumping investigation launched on September 2, 2024 by the Internal Market Protection Department at the request of rolled products producers in the Eurasian Economic Union countries.
Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Mills JSC, Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Mills JSC and Severstal JSC submitted the request for the imposition of duties.
The anti-dumping duty on galvanized rolled products imported from China varies between 12.69% and 17% of the customs value depending on the manufacturer, while this rate is 23.9% for products originating in Ukraine. In addition, price obligations were previously approved for some Chinese firms.
The Economic Commission for Europe has decided to extend these measures for the duration of the repeated investigation.
