As of July 20, spot rebar prices in the Turkish long steel market continued their moderate upward trend across most regions.

The Turkish long steel market started the week with a generally upward trend in spot rebar prices. On the producer side, there were no significant changes in pricing, while the average offer from Marmara-based producers increased to USD 585/mt. İzmir producers lowered their offers to USD 565/mt, while producers in the İskenderun region continued to offer rebar at USD 575-580/mt. Imported billet prices remained unchanged at USD 495/mt CFR Türkiye, while wire rod and structural steel profile markets maintained their existing price levels.

Spot market

Spot rebar prices started the week with modest increases. Prices rose by TRY 100-200/mt in İzmir, Karabük and Payas, while prices in the Istanbul spot market remained unchanged from the previous trading day. In line with the price increases, market demand showed a noticeable improvement compared to the previous week, with market participants reporting higher trading activity.

Average producer prices

No significant changes were observed in producer offers. The average rebar offer from Marmara-based producers increased to USD 585/mt, while İzmir producers lowered their offers to USD 565/mt. Producers in the İskenderun region continued to quote prices in the range of USD 575-580/mt.

Producer offers

İçdaş slightly revised its rebar prices upward at its Istanbul and Biga facilities, with the increases largely attributed to movements in the exchange rate. Meanwhile, Kardemir continued to keep its rebar sales closed without making any changes to its base prices.

Imported billet prices remained stable at USD 495/mt CFR Türkiye. No notable change was observed on the demand side of the domestic market, while producers maintained their cautious sales policies.

Wire Rod

The wire rod market maintained its stable outlook. Kardemir kept its wire rod price unchanged at USD 590/mt, while the limited increase seen at İçdaş Biga was mainly attributed to exchange rate movements. EGE ÇELİK also left its wire rod prices unchanged.
