As part of Steel Summit 2026, the Flat Steel Panel will comprehensively address the sector’s transformation topics ranging from production to exports.

Cost, competition, and market balance in flat steel will be discussed at Steel Summit 2026

At the panel titled “Value Added in Flat Steel, Competitive Advantage and Market Transformation,” the impacts of increasing competition and product diversification on the sector will be evaluated. Key topics to be discussed include the importance of value-added production in flat steel, cost optimization in slab production, protective measures against HRC imports, regulations supporting domestic production, the contribution of R&D investments to product diversification, and how the shift in demand in the European market is reflected in export strategies.

The panel will be moderated by Genco Bolaca, Foreign Trade Manager at Galex Steel International. Speakers will include Samy Mohammed, Board Member of Steel Network; Pelin Arkan, Supply Chain Director at Yıldız Demir Çelik; Sinan Küçük, Purchasing Director at Tatmetal; and Yasin Kanbur, Middle East General Manager of Hangzhou CIEC Group Ltd.

Taking place at a time when competitive conditions in the flat steel sector are being reshaped, the panel is expected to bring together production, trade, and supply chain perspectives on the same platform. The session, held as part of Steel Summit 2026, will take place on May 13–15, 2026, at Swissôtel Resort & Spa Çeşme and will provide an important platform for industry representatives.

The session will be conducted in Turkish, with Turkish–English simultaneous interpretation available for participants.
