China's steel exports fell

China's steel exports fell in the January-October period.

China's steel exports fell

In the first ten months of this year, China's steel exports fell 2 percent year on year to 56.2 million tons. The reason for the decrease is thought to be increased inflation, rising energy prices and decreased demand from Western countries.

At the same time, China's steel exports to Southeast Asia amounted to 16.7 million tons, down 0.6 percent year on year. Exports to the East Asian market fell 19% year-on-year, but the European market increased 35% year-on-year. Central and South America, on the other hand, imported 5.8 million tons of steel from China, down 29 percent year on year.
