From a regional perspective, total steel purchases increased by %0.9 month on month. Demand remained stable or recorded slight increases in East China, Southwest China, South China and North China, while declines were observed in Central China, Northwest China and Northeast China.
Infrastructure projects continued to be the main source of demand, accounting for approximately %76 of total steel consumption, while the real estate sector represented %23. This indicates that the recovery in the property sector remains limited, with construction steel demand continuing to be supported primarily by government-backed infrastructure projects. Overseas projects accounted for only %10 of total activity.
Although seasonal factors weighed on the market in June, robust infrastructure activity largely offset the slowdown. While seasonal pressures are expected to increase in July, ongoing large-scale infrastructure projects are likely to limit the decline in rebar demand. In this context, order flows in East China and Southwest China are expected to remain key indicators of market direction in the coming weeks.
