China's exports of rolled metal increased

According to Chinese customs data, China's steel reinforcement exports reached 1 million tonnes in August 2023, up 56.2% y-o-y. In the January-August period, the volume reached 7.36 million tonnes, up 50%.

August exports of wire rods produced by metallurgical enterprises in China totalled 0.21 million tonnes, up 26.5% y-o-y. In the 8-month period of 2023, the overseas supply of these metal products reached 1.62 million tonnes, up 19.6%.

Overall, exports of rolled metal from China reached 8.28 million tonnes in August, up 36.4% year on year. The January-August result was 58.78 million tonnes, up 28.4% from the same period in 2022.
