The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) published a press release regarding the appointment of Fatih Karahan as president.
In the announcement made by the CBRT, with the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated February 3, 2024 and numbered 32449, Dr. It was reminded that Fatih Karahan was appointed.
According to the announcement, Karahan made the following evaluations after his appointment:
"The main purpose and priority of our Central Bank is to ensure price stability. In this regard, we continue our efforts to ensure disinflation with our strong team. We are determined to maintain the necessary monetary tightness until inflation falls to levels compatible with our target. We closely monitor inflation expectations and pricing behavior. We are closely monitoring any changes in the inflation outlook. "We will definitely not allow degradation."
Karahan will hold an information meeting at the CBRT Administration Center on February 8 at 10.30 to introduce this year's first Inflation Report.
