The Canadian Court of International Trade (CITT) has decided to cancel the anti-dumping duties on Ukraine's hot rolled steel. It is stated that the dumping of these products will most likely not harm their local producers.
In 2002, a 77% tax was imposed on Ukrainian-made hot rolled steel in Canada. This tax applies to 1.37 to 4.75 mm thick plates and 1.37 to 15,875 mm thick coils for carbon and alloy steel plate and strip products. .
Clearly, the CITT decision is political in nature. There was no investigation before the cancellation of the missions. Previously, US authorities had canceled the effect of steel import tariffs for Ukrainian companies.
