Following the final review conducted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), a dumping margin of 47.9% was determined for products originating from Türkiye. For Chinese-origin products, it was noted that a dual investigation covering both dumping and subsidization allegations is still ongoing.
According to a notification from the Trade Counsellor’s Office in Ottawa, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announced its decision on January 14, 2026, regarding whether the dumping caused injury to the domestic industry. The Tribunal ruled that imports originating from South Korea and Vietnam were negligible and therefore closed the investigations concerning these two countries without imposing any measures. However, it concluded that dumping of Turkish-origin imports, and both dumping and subsidization of Chinese-origin imports, caused injury to Canadian producers.
Following this determination by the CITT, Canada decided to impose anti-dumping duties at a rate of 47.9% on steel strapping imports originating from Türkiye. With the entry into force of this measure, exports of steel strapping from Türkiye to Canada are expected to be significantly affected.
