The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has announced that it has initiated a sunset review of the current trade measures on imports of oil and drilling pipes (OCTG) from China Taipei, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
The review is being conducted to determine whether the expiration of Decision RR-2019-006, which came into effect on December 30, 2020, will lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping practices in OCTG imports from the countries concerned and whether this will cause injury to the domestic industry in Canada.
As part of the process, the Canada Border Services Agency will announce its final assessment of the risk of dumping by April 30, 2026, at the latest. If it is determined that there is a possibility of dumping, the CITT will then determine whether the ongoing or potentially renewed dumping practices would cause harm to the domestic industry by October 7, 2026, at the latest.
