Billet market in China is heating up: Prices and consumption increase

Between May 9-15, the daily billet consumption of 48 re-rollers in Tangshan saw a significant increase of 19,600 tons/day week-on-week, reaching an average of 51,700 tons/day. During this period, with local re-rollers increasing their purchases of semi-finished products, the total billet stocks at these 48 mills in Tangshan rose by 44,600 tons weekly, reaching a 2.5-month high of 446,800 tons as of May 15.
