The Belarusian government has imposed a six-month restriction on steel exports to the EU. The new regulation will start from October 1, 2021 and will run until March 31, 2022.
During the implementation period, Belarusian steel pipe exports will require one-time licenses issued by the Ministry of Antitrust Regulation and Trade (MART). The control of the appropriateness of this measure, determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus, was entrusted to the State Customs Committee.
Belarus' licensed steel pipe exports can be made to 27 EU countries. Products to which this restrictive measure is subject include pipes, tubes and other hollow sections made of ferrous metals of square or rectangular cross-section.
