Argentina's crude steel production rises again

Production of hot-rolled products increased by 22.5% to 220,600 tons, while production of cold-rolled products decreased by 2.6% to 96,900 tons, and production of long products increased by 13.4% to 217,700 tons.

Main drivers of steel demand were agricultural machinery, the automotive industry, the energy sector and household appliances.

There are difficulties in importing raw materials not produced in the country due to the financial crisis that Argentina is facing, including a lack of foreign exchange and very high inflation.
