The unit produces different types of components with special characteristics for the automotive sector using high-quality laser-welded steel blanks.
"This achievement gives us great satisfaction, as we were selected as a pilot plant among all the European subsidiaries of the Tailored Blanks division and, after all the efforts made, we were able to fulfill all the required standards," said Tomás Ramos, Operations Director of ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Zaragoza.
The certification process includes a year-long independent audit by the Norwegian company Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
The plant is the fifth ArcelorMittal facility in Spain to achieve ResponsibleSteel certification.
