ArcelorMittal Poland (AMP) invested PLN 100 million in the renovation of a cold rolling mill at its Krakow site after announcing an environmental investment of PLN 30 million late last year. The renovation was expected to be implemented by the end of the year.
AMP is highly interested in investing in the Krakow plant. It was hoped that the Krakow plant can be able to increase production capacity and maintain stable power consumption after the transformation to meet the growing demand of customers.
The AMP blast furnace, which was idled in November 2019 due to lower demand, produced only 3.9 million tons of crude steel last year, down by 19% year on year.
