ArcelorMittal Europe's steel shipments in the third quarter of this year amounted to 7.1 million tons, down 6 percent year on year due to weak demand.
Meanwhile, steel production fell 12 percent year on year to 8 million tons due to the sharp decline in apparent demand and production cuts caused by rising energy prices.
ArcelorMittal Europe announced further production cuts in France, Spain, Germany and Poland from the fourth quarter due to increased imports as a result of higher energy and carbon costs.
