Amiantit made anti-dumping complaint against Indian ductile iron pipe imports

Saudi Arabia-based Amiantit Company announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Saudi Arabian Ductile Iron Pipes Ltd. (SADIP), has filed an anti-dumping complaint against ductile cast iron pipe imports from India. The complaint was submitted jointly with another local producer manufacturing the same product.

The General Authority for Foreign Trade formally accepted the complaint on July 23, 2025, and initiated an investigation process. The scope of the investigation includes ductile iron pipes with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 1,000 mm, covering technical classifications from K9 to C40.

Amiantit stated that low-priced imports from India have significantly impacted domestic manufacturers by reducing market share and production capacity, leading to weaker sales performance and limited business growth.

The company expects that the introduction of anti-dumping measures would help increase sales in the ductile pipe segment. It also emphasized that this development could strengthen its position among contractors and public sector clients that prioritize higher local content in procurement.

The legal process is being supported by the company’s representative, lawyer Abdullah Al-Dosari. Amiantit confirmed that it will continue to actively follow up on the case in coordination with the relevant authorities and push for the swift implementation of provisional measures.

At this stage, the company does not foresee any legal or operational risks and will disclose further updates as they become available.
